Heart of Neon: Original Soundtrack Selections - Tony Longworth (2xLP Vinyl Record)

“Only now do I see that every track was really me translating Jeff's world into sound.”
  - Tony Longworth

Step into a world of neon lights, psychedelic soundscapes, and limitless imagination with Heart of Neon: Original Soundtrack Selections, presented by Materia Collective in celebration of legendary game designer Jeff Minter and his enduring legacy with Llamasoft.

Composed by Tony Longworth for the acclaimed documentary Heart of Neon, this electrifying soundtrack evokes the kaleidoscopic imagery, boundless creativity, and independent spirit that have defined Minter's work for decades. Blending retro synths, ambient textures, and psychedelic electronics, Longworth channels the energy of classic arcade games and hypnotic lightsynths into a sonic experience that is both nostalgic and otherworldly.

A lifelong admirer of Llamasoft, Longworth draws inspiration from his own experiences with Minter's groundbreaking creations, from Gridrunner and Colourspace to the mesmerizing world of Neon. The result is a deeply personal tribute to a visionary whose passion for games, music, and independent creativity continues to inspire generations.

Pressed on audiophile-grade 180g black vinyl (2xLP), this special edition features selections from Longworth's original score, co-composed by d0kk, and album artwork by Paul Docherty, with inner artwork by Steinar Lund and layout and design by Diego Montenegro. The package also includes a foreword by Jeff Minter and personal liner notes by Paul Docherty and Tony Longworth, offering an intimate look at the creative journey behind the soundtrack and its deep connection to the world of Llamasoft.

A celebration of creativity without limits, where retro gaming nostalgia meets the psychedelic heart of neon.
